Loudness is not in Mastering: Is all about the MIX! The Secret to Louder Mixes Crest Factor

Yea I have done both. I think if it’s a proper release a mastering engineer is worth their weight in gold. It can make all the difference. But if it’s not in the budget, get to learning and do it yourself.

Loudness is not in Mastering: Is all about the MIX! The Secret to Louder Mixes Crest Factor

I think these over compressed overloud albums are fatiguing to listen to. Thankfully with streaming music becoming ubiquitous and vinyl making a comeback the loudness war is somewhat dead. Personally I told everyone working on the next Drunk Pedestrians album that I didn’t want it over...

Loudness is not in Mastering: Is all about the MIX! The Secret to Louder Mixes Crest Factor

Yea in going to have to disagree with this guy. If you are mastering things yourself, in your home studio then maybe. But if you are taking them to a proper mastering engineer you want a LOT of headroom. Personally I like dynamic mixes that breath.

Tarron I like your beat a lot, all I would say is I would make it a verse-chrous structure and get a rapper on it. Matt your beat is great, but I think the pitched up vocals are a bit out of style these days. Could you do something else with it? Thrilzz, good shit man! I am really liking this...

Yup, put a record out. Market the shit out of it. Then another etc. This helps give you credibility when you want to work with someone.

When Clients Says "Your Price Is Too High"– How To Respond Role Play

Man I haven’t tried to sell beats in years. I make songs with other artists. Almost every “beat” I make has someone in mind from the start. Then we put out the song or record together. Way better that way.

    Copyright bullshit

That’s considered fair use. You are fine and honestly if you sell less they 10k units and/or views you are usually fine. I do have an entertainment lawyer just for these sorts of things though...

    Most expensive beat sold ever!!!

I’m mean it wasn’t unheard of to sell the average beat for the top notch producers at 80k per beat. So getting up this high doesn’t seem crazy.

Good free software for beginners ?

Reaper is wicked powerful and only $60 , I would probably start there if I was starting totally over from scratch. Audacity is ok but handles multitrack is really weird imho

    Behringer's not done with 2019

I mean Behringer is a massive company and Focusrite is not, but yes Focusrite is much higher quality in pre amps and converters but Behringer isn’t low quality junk these days either like they used to be. Strange times for sure.
