    Im not sure either what type of software they use, but if I had to make a wild guess I would have to say a hig end version of Pro Tools since thats seems to be the industry standard these days.

    Im still using Sonar 2 to record my music. I mainly use hardware when doing all my beats, and mixing on a actual mixer. But once I get the sound that I want, I just record the entire beat into sonar, making it into a .wav, mp3, or burn to a disk. Im sure you know more about the capabilities...
