Flipping a Sample?

To my understanding it means to find a sample and tweak it to your liking. Whether it's chopping it up into little pieces, EQ'ing, filtering, stretching it etc....

Its like juzblazwun said, but to me flipping is making a sample unreconizable. where not even the original artist will know what it is.
