how long do you normally spend on a track
When you new to the game and learning the craft and your tools. It takes me a week to get a decent beat going. -
Mpc 1000/2000
Yeah, the 2000 has timestretch but the 1000 you can mix different programs together. Like use the snare from on set of sounds and the hi hat from another set of sounds. I dont think you can do that on the 2000 if im correcrt. I have a 1000 and it dosn't timestretch, and I think that option is... -
question on production equipment
It all depends what your price range is, but I think you would get more out of a sampler like the mpc1k that would hit you for like $879. They also have some Korg samplers for $269 and I dont know anyone who has one so I can tell you how they are. Or maybe check out a keyboard like the yamaha... -
gospel rap
I have cousins who are really into gospal rap and have there own group. The problem I have is that you have to make it clear to what your message is otherwise its just another rap song if the message isnt clear.- Ozmosis

Classic, Im using the MPC1k for the drums and my Roland XP-30 for the key. My first beat was done completly with the MPC "The experiement". One of my boys he makes beats as well and said I need to pay more attention to the Metronome. Yeah, I feel the same way you do about getting started...- Ozmosis

Will this be your first piece of hardware? If your serious about producing and can afford it(because this sh** can get expensive) you have to get atleast one piece of hardware. My first piece was a Roland xp-30 keybord then a year later I got a mpc-1000. A keybord will get your music theroy... -
