i saw cheap turntable preamps on ebay, for about 30$. just a little black box with 1x cinch ins/outs. i could use one of those to put my TT on my mixer, instead of running it through phono line of my hi-fi preamp. anyone experience with em ? -

im on pro concordes. sound-wise theres nothing wrong with shures, decent quality, but id always go with the concorde design, its sturdier. classic cartridges can get f'd up pretty quickly when theres a party and some drunk decides to play records like a real dj. id love to check out that... -

agree. you dont want to rely on the tt's built in sample converter. id get one of the cheaper analog dj decks from gemini or numark and invest in a good cartridge (like this one http://www.thomann.de/gb/ortofon_concorde_arkiv.htm?partner_id=73924) when you have some money on the side -
