    on the real, though, youre all wrong. what i do is i pick a random track off the back of the sleeve, something that sounds tight from the track name. then ill put that song in, record the first 30 seconds or so on the first listen into my 1k, then chop that up. then ill descard what i dont use...

    thanks for your help. i tried moving to to a outlet of its own with nothing else in it, and off a power strip, and got the same result. the only thing that made me think it was the speakers was that i was getting absolutely no sound in the second speaker. i dont know though. ill take the time...

    yea i do that a lot. mostly ill lay down some 1/8th hats on the mpc, and then just turn the quantize off and play around with the kicks and the snares, get some natural swing in them. then after i get them done i take the OG hats out and replay them without quantize.... helps get closer to...

    i would never use a comp, because it seems like digging is the most fun part of beats, to me. but to each his own. i dont care if you buy comps and use them, if you flip them differently and chop them crazily. but if you are looping..... just think that almost everyone else who buys that comp...

    "also same sample used by alchemist for big noyd's 'something for all that' ft prodigy." way better, IMO. alchemist has been my favorite producer for as long as ive been making beats, so i geuss that amkes me biased. geuss that also makes me somewhat new to the the game. (two years or so...)

    Why I love my MPC ...

    i love my 1k because i love working with that neon green screen in the dark... because i like working audially and not visually.... because with the pads i can actually feel what im playing more, and it feels good, and because it works so effectively in tandem with my tts and my midi keyboard.

    chopping samples and playing/arranging them in REASON... best process??

    i havent used reason in a bit but i had a solid work flow going in there for a minute... those were the days. lol. (still learning/working on my process on my mpc..) what i used to do was chop things up real simple like on audacity, and then load them into the nnxt to play with my keyboard...
