Cubase 5 - does it have swing and shuffle?
you mean like groove quantization ? can't do that in cubase (as far as I know). there is a swing function for the quantization, but it only adds a little imprecision when you're quantizing, nothing spectacular. -

I don't think the upgrade restriction counts for edu as well, it's just the thing with the registration transfer. there's edu nfr and then there's demonstration model/partner/press nfr, but don't pin me down on it... as far as the registration thing goes, i think the update procedure is pretty... -

Yes they are. If it was possible to transfer registration of NFRs, people could make a living from selling edu versions. -

I'm afraid I can't, I couldn't if it was mine, it's company policy. the person you got it from supposably got it for free or at least at a very good price, but it's not for resale (hence no registration transfer) and it's not upgradable (only eligible for updates), that's the trade-off. -
