What usually drives your reason for creating a beat?
Definately an interesting point - I probably woulnd't describe myself as an artist if someone asked, but I love art - I'm always drawing, sketching, messing about in photoshop, writing graffiti in lessons, taking stupid pictures with a shit camera...just like beatmaking, I enjoy creating things... -

I almost always have an idea in my head before I start, with build up and change-ups included and when I start working I'm just working until it sounds like the idea in my head. At other times I'll be listening to something and if it catches my ear I'll either sample it or simply be inspired... -

I just don't read any HipHop magazines, I have difficulty finding anything other than the Source so I don't buy anything - I would if I found a magazine which covered stuff other than was in the charts and with consistently interesting articles - but for now it's the internet.- Lex

Sages new album on Epitaph - Pretty Dope.
Thats by no means a bad thing, lol...I'd have to say most of my favourite albums are instrumental ones - sometimes I can't help but feel that some things are more powerfull/beautiful when there are no vocals, it leaves the listener to interpret the song by themselves a lot more.
