Is there a better reverb plug-in for Cubase SX?
I know what you mean about that metallic ringing sound actually, although I've never been able to hear it when its mixed in - basically I've only ever noticed it when I solo the track in Cubase, and even then with more subtle reverbs its still not that obvious. I'd still be interested in... -

Swing on beats
I've only ever applied swing to hihats or ride cymbals - but thats just because most of the time I find stuff doesn't need to have any swing on the snares or kicks to make it sound a little more organic. -

what is layering?
Cool, I hope it helps you get that sound you want. When you start experimenting with panning, volume the posibilties when layering are pretty much endless - you can end up tweaking stuff to the edge of your sanity. -
