    ok, i will have my pc in a matter of days now. i got Kontakt and Cubase SX. my pc comes with 256 mb ram, and is upgradeable to 3 gigs which i plan on expanding asap..... so here is the issue: i am getting several sample cd's and vst instruments, Such as spectrasonic's stylus and atmosphere...

    but it still has to be playable. you can have 88 keys worth of well pitched samples, but if they lack the playable characteristics of the actual instruments its pretty much useless. save yourself the time and get a scsi drive and some cd roms.

    a scsi drive will allow you to take a sample cd rom (there are literally thousands out there, load it into the drive, and you will have a piano sitting in your mpc for you to play via midi keyboard.

    i dont really know, exactly. but you only get 16 levels doing it that way, and when you actually do it manually it still doesnt sound right. i say get a scsi drive and some cd roms and save yourself the trouble.

    well lets see when i got a few thousand dollars to spend i will certainly invest in a mac, but as it stands a pc is cheaoper by leaps and bounds and as my budget isnt going anywhere (as far as i can see) for a while a pc is the better machine for my money..... i have enough to buy a used mac...
