it's interesting how different some mixes can sound on my headphones vs monitors. Sometimes almost unrecognisable, or for some, what made them sound good is actually not present or is a negative when heard with different playback (and that can be on mixes that sounded good!) Clip. Saturate. Steal a decibel here and there everywhere you can in the mix. If you can make everything even a dB louder without incurring distortion or losing headroom, your loudness will start creeping up. Don't worry about 'gain staging', it's pretty irrelevant in regards to loudness...- Iron Keys
