how long do you normally spend on a track
i can go for weeks on a track in nuendo if im on the mpc though, due to limited mixer/memory i just smoke doobs and loop shit up and maybe write rhymes, although the more im using it, the more complicated and extensive my sampling gets, lotsa fun! -

ok question, any tricks u guys use for sampling vocals from soul/jazz/hiphop ? IE kanye, how he speeds up that shit, how can u get vocals isolated from the background hihats/keys/whatever... even funky guitar riffs or whatever... u guys just search for stuff thats already really dry and on... -

if your sampling speed up the table.. cooledit, soundforge does decent timestretch shit.. native instruments traktor.. but my fav software for timestretching would be abelton live.. tight as fuck -

Any suggestions for making Hits?
waldorf attack is wicked for that shit for analog sounding stuff anyways.. try to get some motion in the sound with the attack and decay.. u dont want an instant attack, but very short.. so it sounds like a hit and not just a beep... otherwise else i would sample something from an orchestral... -

quick mpc question about copyin drum tracks from bars to other bars
havnt used the mpc 1k but i think its near the same, u go to edit ? copy bars, copy the first bar > before 2nd bar.. or insert blank bar if u want a fresh start -
Setup-Help
i wouldnt control your mpc from cubase... defeats the purpose of the mpc, dope sequencing and midi.. good to sync to cubase to do all your keys and arranging in.. but thats just my method. i dont see why you would have problems with your instruments seeing as u have a shitload more than...
