ive been keepin my eye on them too for the past bit, itd be nice to have a HD recorder to mixdown on... id be interested to know how it stores the tracks, like if i could track my beats onto the akai dps then bring that disc to my mans mixing desk... might have to bring the whole unit tho... -

layering drums to sound thicker...care to share???
thats a great article.. its easy to do if u have an mpc, u just assign the two sounds to one pad, and mess with each sound till they blend, works great if u have the individual outs going to a mixer so u can seperatley eq each sound -

Drum Tweaking Techniques
if u cant afford an mpc 60, s950, or s900, download a copy of abelton live and use the bit reduction effect, also cubase/nuendo comes with a bitcrusher, drop it down to 12 bit, or however low u wanna go. i find its best to resample your drums through these fx dry, before u start adding verbs or... -
trying not to sample
find a dirt cheap computer or adopt somones old one dont have to be great ,buy a used audiophile 2496 , then download some vst's and control them with your keyboard cheapest & best sounds your gonna get. shit like lounge lizard and elektrik piano sound fuckin dope especially when you eq them... -
I just ogt an Akai Multitrack for $15.
i like the arm rest on it - matching the mpc 60 mk 1's beauty! autechre still uses cassettes to shop around there upcommin releases and demos so that its less desirable for bootleg'rz to leak there shit -

Best way to Multi track from mpc using 8 outs to a PC
M-audio Delta 1010 is a cheap solution, PCI 8 ins 8 outs, good card
