New Set Up. In need of serious help!?!
Your set up sounds good to me. Only me personaly I would get a pentium 4 mother board. I've heard some software has compatibility issues with the amd athlon boards. Don't take my word for that tho. But I know a lot of stuff is made to work perfectly with the p4 board. -

traveling sampler
Y don't you just record em with a cd recorder, tape recorder, portable minidisc recorder etc... You don't have to initialy record the sounds into a sampler. Im sure whatever kinda system the turntable is hooked to has to have some recording device hooked to it also. Imho it would be stupid to... -

You want good sounds and keys to play em.. Motif Es is a perfect addition to a 4k. If you already have a midi controlel then Motif rack. You don't need the sequencer from any of the boards the 4k will handle that. All you need is sounds and keys, and if you got keys (midi controler) get a rack... -

It depends on if your a keyboard player or not. And what you wanna do with it... You not gonna be playing bethoveen on those mini keys feel me. But if you use reason its definately worth the 300 . I have 1. It has built in presets to control 90% of the knobs and faders in reason in real time... -

Yeah. I have that midi controler. If you use reason and don't mind the mini keys its the best controler to get. Pads, keys, and it has built in templates for reason ( and many other popular software) you don't have to program any thing its all there right out the box... I bought mine last... -

Basically there are different kind of mixtapes. I think the rest of the guys explained it good just wanna add my $.2 ..... Best preferable way to get your track LOUD in reason W/OUT CLIPPING?
Sonar 3 has a function like that where you can boost or lower by 3db. You know I use reason also and I've been thinking the same thing how to boost the levels without clipping. But your gonna have to do it in another program like cubase or sonar. What I do is rewire and track out the beat in... -
