Yo, honestly to me that sounds like it will be dope! You will be happy with everything form what i've read your copping... Do u got a booth? compressor? What is the space like that your using this in? Is it a basement? Do u have a good area for your mic and shit? Think about all that, you can usually get good vocals without a booth but a compressor will help... Slthough your software compressor may be good enough to use after you record the vocal take...

Your set up sounds good to me. Only me personaly I would get a pentium 4 mother board. I've heard some software has compatibility issues with the amd athlon boards. Don't take my word for that tho. But I know a lot of stuff is made to work perfectly with the p4 board.

Yo that set-up is tight, you might want to get a usb hard drive so you can back every thing up you no what i mean just in case you get the producer's nightmare and and harddrive just goes out and nothings on their

I'm using a room in my new house, and I'm going to build a booth. I don't know about mic placement and stuff, but my avalon has a compressor.

the only mistake on that list is all the PC gear. Get an Apple G5, load it with lots of ram, then get a Lacie External hard drive for all your recordings, maybe a 200 gig (approx. $200). The biggest mistake anyone can probably make when building a studio is having it run off a PC....Check any major studio around the world, and their likely all running off a Mac system.

If you're gonna be using this new computer for other stuff though, such as games, or windows based applications, then I guess you're gonna have to make a comprimise between music, and PC stuff, and then make a decision from there...Which is more important
