^^^^^ what i meant was if u make music without any mcs, singers etc on it, then it shouldnt be the same 2 bar loop. it should have some variations and stuff, cause a listener will loose his interest in the track. BUT if u make beats for people to rap on, u can use that 2 bar loop over and... -

i gotta agree that people often forget one of the most important instruments - vocals. repetitiveness is only important if u make instrumentals (without vocals). if u make beats for rappers its a different story. -

look at alchemist (or primo). is he composin? no. is he doin d. south or party or club or whatever? no. is he the master of sampling? yes. thats what makes him great. hes stuck with one formula. i THINK its the best way. just my humble opinion. -

u can get rme fireface 400, record tracks to your favourite daw, then get a cheap m-audio card, import your recorded tracks to pro tools m-powered (via rewire or simply by exporting single waves) for mixing and use fireface 400 as a standalone 8 channel ad da converter for your m-audio card... -

1) fuck a usb. u dont need it. buy an external card reader. its possible to install internal card reader, but its a big headache; 2) its good for choppin as soon as u get used to it. no autochop function though. but the solution could be samplin to the pc, chop with recycle for example and then...
