    damn, i want to get a sub so bad, but seems pointless now. it will at least be good for just listening to music tho right, even if its not 100% accurate? all those crappy pc speaker systems come with subs and they sound pretty aight

    Swing?

    i think the placement of the snares has a lot to do with it; like if you put them a few tics after the 2 and 4 of the beat it sounds more "relaxed" and if you put them a few tics before the 2 and 4 it sounds more driving

    How long does it take for Production on a Track

    yeah, really depends on the track for me, and how much time i WANT to spend working on it. i could put something nice together in like a half hour if i'm lucky, but a lot of times i get stuck making the drums EXACTLY on time, or programming a synth sound, or finding ways to mix up the arrangement.

    Compression with Reason

    yeah i agree with sanova, can't get the reason compressor to sound nice. sometimes it makes the drums really pop, but sometimes it kills their sound... guess i need more practice or something

    trigger finger with reason

    yeah, i've got trigger finger, i'm liking it a lot. make sure you have reason 3 tho, b/c its a LOT easier to assign the knobs and stuff with that; i was using 2.5 for a while and having mad trouble with it

    i've got live 5- liking it a lot, not sure if i'll need to upgrade. the new sampler does sound pretty nice, but costs extra. i heard it also has new effects, like "tube distortion" and a 8 band eq (instead of just four). if youve got 4, going to 5 is nice b/c its got the "beat repeat" effect...
