You don't need a controller in Ableton Live. I couldn't agree more. I like the Impulse Drum Machine, Simpler Sampler and effects that Live comes with, but in the end FL blows it away. Ctrl -

micv30, as far as drums sounds, you have to look around the net maybe even purchase some. Do a Google search for "Akai KOTW", this will lead you to an archive of free drum sounds (like 808s). IMO, You should look into soundfonts. You can download the "sfz player" to get started. Also... -

Does the CPU usage jump when you start Sonar or when you load the song your talking about? Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and look at the performance tab. If it's runs high only when you load the song, then it's the effects/plugins and you'll have to use less of 'em. If the CPU usage stays the same when...
