    Please dont get me wrong.... I love Das FX too. But there were copycats and wack MCs backl in the day too, but it just wasnt as saturated bcos it was harder to get your stuff out there back then... I even think, relatively speaking, it was the same as nowadays... Ive not done any serious...

    Same sh*t was happening in the 90s man... When Das FX dropped with the 'hibbedy-skibbedy-dippedy' flows there were hundreds of wack copycats trying (and failing) to emulate them... It got obnoxious for a while and ended up deading Das FXs career too bcos everyone was sick of it :LOL:o_O

    yeah this guy doesnt get mentioned nearly enough! But I would say he got his style from Kool G Rap (and adapted it and elevated it)... Im not sure of treachs influence bcos he was in a lane all his own at some point and MCs were very scared of him. A unique talent... Also... I really dont think...

    Puffy defo has a hand in it haha... BUT, as Ive said before... Theres PLENTY of great music being made now! Its just not in the mainstream. Need to make an effort to find it (which makes it more rewarding imo)

    Exactly that! Em kinda falls into that catagory for me... Incredible rhyming abilities and glimpses of genius, but, if you listen back now, often a very similar cadence and flow throughout. And the stuff that shocked me as a kid, I listen back now and its pretty juvenile... And since Ive delved...

    You make a good point... BUT, Im sorry, he's just not the GREATEST OF AAALLL TIME. If you know about Hip Hop you'll realise this... IMO (btw im not saying youre claiming he IS the GOAT) Em is great and his first 2 albums have bits of genius in them (especially at the time when it dropped!)...
