hmm its one of those things that comes with time really i used to have that problem a lot, obviously it helps if you can play a bit and add a few things to it but just try different things with the drums and listen thru the record your sampling for extra stuff to use outside of your main loop ... -

Recording vocals: Shure SM57 or 58?
out of those two id go with a 58, and ye you can screw the top off and remove the foam that makes a difference ! to be honest neither are that great for studio vocals, if you can record takes with them both and see which you prefer. -

hmmm i agree with you in that yes mastering is worth every penny, if your guna release your stuff ! if your guna pay a load of cash on mastering then throw the beat up for sale on myspace or sumthing your wasting your time and money ! and yes becoming a good engineer is a long road however... -

i thought the MM6 was just a mini motif but had all the same sounds ? if your looking for some good sounds on a budget then i'd look at the korg micro-x, i use it and its got sum nice sounds its not got the widest range of sounds nothing really out the box but its good at what it does ! the... -

i mean to be honest you've had pretty much every sampler of note lol, i mean maybe you could try and mpc3k or 4k or an mv8000 or 8800 ! the sp has a very unique sound becuase of its conversion rate amongst other things, if that sounds best to you then thats probably the thing you should be using... -

well it depends wot are you going to do with the song to be honest with the quality of plug-ins you can get at home today and the knowledge thats available on the internet theres no reason why you can't do a simple bit of mixing and mastering yourself if you just intend for you and your m8s to... -

export each track on its own then export your vocals you just need to have every track as a seperate file in .wav format ideally ! -
