Compressing the Drum Bus
yea the problem is if your compressing your individual sounds then you compress your drum mix then im assuming you probably compress your main outs the sounds have been compressed three times already ! which is too much personally i compress my individual sounds i dnt do anything to the drum... -

you can't just know all the major/minor chords and scales on a keyboard and then learn sumthing else ! thats like learning a football is a football and then still not know how to play ! you have to learn the theory behind the chords and what works and what doesnt knowing what a chord is isn't... -

YES! thats another good point ! the amount of so called 'remixes' i hear people do when the beat is completely the wrong key ! i mean come on ! thats the basics getting it the right tempo and the right key ! it amazes sometimes how many 'producers' cannot tell that an acapella is out of... -

i would have thought theres sumthing not connecting quite rite it could be the cable or it could be a fault with the MPC outs ! so try new cables like your planning on doing or try plugging another piece of gear if you or your m8s have got sumthing to see if that hums or not ? -

this is what i do, and i know how to line up an acapella perfectly ! if theres one thing i have is a ridiculously accurate ear for timing, which i learnt thru DJing ! i just play the acapella and have my MPC on ill just have the click going on the MPC and ill play about with the BPM trying to... -

glad the sites back up again i thought there was a lot of good stuff on there ! if people with music theory can't make a decent beat thats not because they know theory its because they are no good at making beats being good at theory doesnt make you good at making beats what it does give you... -

you have to remember you don't necessarily have to be able to do something to be an expert on it ! in football the most succesful managers weren't always the best players ! as long as you have a good knowledge of it then thats usualyl enough ! you also got to remember that 90% of people who buy...- MarkN

its probably the future of production in the sense that everything is heading to people using an all in one solution more and more but the neko itself isn't that brilliant for the money you can get better stuff ! you can buy a £100 e-mu sound card and program that rip sounds the same as the neko ! -

the whole album was basically country/hip hop stuff there was a handful of actually country samples on there aswell ! that album is so underrated ! and didn't nelly do a song with tim mcgraw, not exactly a sample but still !? and BEP sampled jack johnson again not strictly country but kind... -

yea id still go for the project mix and tbh id get a digi PT package with it u can still keep logic then if u want and maybe just mix in PT !
