how important is room treatment?
Well... i'm looking to buy monitors... probably the krk rp8s or the event 20/20s... but i've heard people say that if you don't treat your room properly, the signal you get from the monitors would be inaccurate anyways....how much would room treatment cost...and if i was to opt not to do it... -
music or lyrics first
both has to be dope for it to stand out from the crowd in my opinion.... i can listen to a track that has good lyrics but a wack instrumental, or vice versa, but in the end will we remember it in the years to come? not really... i've rapped and made beats before... so i appreciate both sides... -

anything will do... i'm still using my casio and it does the job... but different people have different needs... like if your a pianist, you will probably want the keyboards with the weighted keys... -

Well i just purchased this soundcard/interface...the lexicon lambeda i think its called... soo everythin is workin well and shit... and i realize i have no sound on my computer... well eventually i find out that the speakers are hooked up to my old default soundcard...so i ended up puttin the... -

I don't know really, my records came from unexpected places... i just got a whole bunch from some old lady who somebody i knew worked with...she gave them to me all for free... not a bad collection -
Melody v.s. Beat
for me its the melody... becuase in my case... the melody determines the feel/subgenre/tempo and most of the beat... not sayin its the most important, but its what sets it off for me... but i've started by using drums before... and i've also started by using basslines or different percussions... -
