Yo thanks to all of you with some encouragement, like I said earlier, good negative feedback is helpful and both Shortaay and I appreciate that. As for me alone, cats like Fade, Wings,Freak, Duece, holmz, phil, chedda, Stress and Cold Truth all have very valuable input to me. In one way or another, you all have gained my respect with your music and/or your dedication to what you do. Some people pick up on things like that, some don't. I have picked up on it and you guys are superstars in my book. The others of you(newbies) with encouragement, thanks to you also. Its very good to get some unbiased reviews.
Overall the project was alot of fun, Shortaay had a blast making the video and I'm honored to have produced the music on it. It's definately a step in the right direction for both of us. If I could go back in time, would I change anything? NO, I wouldn't...You know how some cats hear some new ish and say "damn, how did he get on? I'm much doper than that cat!" but while you're sitting at home asking questions, the cat you just saw on MTV or whatever is out there making his next video...feel me?

i remember when you showed me that beat a while ago. tis a sweeeeeet beat. to be honest i have to agree with the others though.....i felt that the MC didnt do the beat justice. he seems like he has something good to say and all but he just doesnt have enough presence on the mic. but he has potential.
i thoughtthe video clip was aight. a little corny at times but a good job none the less.

This totally had to do with the mc. I think this was a situation where the track could not stand on it's own as a good work of art without the help of the mc. The track did nothing for me at all, it was neither good or bad in my opinion. Some music you can listen to, and the artist be booty, but you can surely know that the track is hot. It's like rounding off to the nearest wackness, the track is zero, and he's negative 5, so he takes the value of the whole production into the negative.
I'd rather never make it at doing what I love, than to compromise my art producing garbage mc's and hating my job after awhile. Money does not equal happyness. I believe serious artist set standards for themselves, even if producing for wack mc's is not one of them. You should have Represented on the track hard, you need to make people say, that track is tight. Here's the part where I take merc's advice and move on...thanks again Truth for being a superstar! To all the other cats that had some negative/positive comments that can be used to build...good looking out for real! I definately learned alot from this whole ordeal, I hope we ALL did. I'm sure that some will "get it" and some won't but such is life. I can't speak directly for ILLMUZIK but I think it's a great medium to enhance your skills, knowledge, quality and understanding of music and the industry at any level. Fade I hope you and the other moderators keep it that way too.

Welcome to the real world Dac, I'm a artist by nature beyond just making beats. I graduated from the 3rd best art school in the nation and have been in countless critiques. When I give a critique it's from a artist point of view, not just somebody who makes beats, or some superficial this is how you get into to the industry bs. I was actually easy on you compared to some stuff that I've said to others at illmuzik who've had better production than what you displayed before awhole nation. And like I said before, I wasn't really talking about you or your track in the first place, but it seems that point keeps flying over heads. You can't see that I'm trying to be nice? I've done good in saying what I've said. I've deluted my hater-aid with alot of water, because it was my last cup, don't make me make another batch.
