I guess it's a good time now to explain what the hell I've been doing for these past 7-8 months.

I've decided to go to the Institute of Audio Research in NYC last year. Thanks goes to DJ Swivel to take time out of his busy schedule to help me out with my decision.

All in all, I am glad I went here, mainly due to it being cheaper and the credits transfers over to St.John's in Queens. The school has been an interesting experience. A good thing about the school is that if you feel you need to re-learn some Midi applications or mixing or another class in Music Business, you can always come back with no charge. My only gripe thus far is that their is only one term devoted to Midi and Music Business, I just wish it was longer than one term. I didn't think I could of done this in August when I first started. But, I have learned a lot, don't get it twisted now.I just don't think I will intern at a studio, even though over the past year, I have interned at radio and major and indy labels. I think I might focus on that, and just engineer as a side gig with some people I know, I am not sure yet. I have about 7 weeks left.

All in all, if any of you guys have any questions about IAR, feel free to post or hit me up, I will tell you about the good, bad, ugly and funny.

I wanna know more about this Danny Tanner cat and he quality of this school.

I was thinking about attending some classes here in Nashville but I get worried about these specialty schools. Do they show you anything you haven't learned on your own or couldn't learn on the internet?

My 2 cents:

Recording schools oversaturate an already saturated and contracting market by selling cats the dream of having a career in the "glamorous" music industry. The music industry is in the shitter and audio engineering jobs are fewer and fewer.

You're better off spending money at a 4 year university, or on really good gear and learning the shit yourself. Do you think Dr. Dre or Timbaland has a degree in audio engineering?

I'm pretty sure Polow Da Don doesn't either. Think about it before you do this shit.
