I think i have officially found the problem with the controller, im not really sure though but it seems that it has something to do with my usb hub/ports.

my usb ports are 3.0, after a couple of research most people have the same problem with 3.0 usb ports.
it seems that maschine hardware perfectly works with 2.0.

native instruments got back to me, and made me run a test to see what could be causing the problem.
and this was last week,

so i continued with my research as i am still itching to use this.
just today, i was installing an m-audio axiom 25 and hit the same wall.

"Windows encountered a problem while installing your device"

tried installing the control device on my old laptop i used to mess around with, both the maschine and m-audio works fine on 2.0 ports.

now im trying to search for a usb hub that can convert 3.0 to 2.0 either that or i got a bunch of controllers that i wont be able to use.

or maybe if you guys encountered the same problem too? please help. ive been idle for half a month now trying to figure this out.

i also tried this,

http://www.cnczone.com/forums/gener...ms-software-driver-can-found-windows-can.html

didnt change a thing...hopefully it does help some who currently have the same issue, but it does nothing for me

:(:(:(:(:(

really? tsk, this is turning into a horrible nightmare..

its an HP Pavillion dv6-6011 TU, i could download a couple of drivers but not sure which one will help or will help for the matter.

m-audio doesnt work on 3.0's im not sure if its just the axioms tho.
maschine has a lot of problems plugged in a 3.0, at least from what ive found from the internet...

Really? I always thought USB 3.0 would dumb down to 2.0 for 2.0 devices, no? Or is it just Maschine that doesn't like it? What about just getting a USB pci card? Well, for desktops. Laptops I don't know.

yea the USB 3.0 should be able to use a 2.0 device fine. The problem with a USB 2.0 hub is that you are still plugging it in to a 3.0 port so you have not solved your problem at all. I assume you are on 64bit windows? and have you tried this driver

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=5079560&sw_lang=

you should probably try these as well depending on what you have

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=5079560&sw_lang=

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=5079560&sw_lang=

and update the chipset driver

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=5079560&sw_lang=

Also maybe you could check the BIOS and see if you can turn USB 3.0 off and force them down to 2.0 But the idea behind USB 3 is that is is backward compatible with 2.0 devices, so it should work

but if all this doesnt work it sounds like you may actually have a problem with your USB controllers and then you are just screwed and will probably need a new laptop, how old is it? Its not under warranty is it? Can you plugin a USB mouse and test?

NI got back to me about my recent problems and this is what they have to say about it...

Thanks for your email.

It's highly plausible that the driver doesn't connect your Maschine Mk I properly
since it is not easy to write a standard driver for USB 3.0 ports especially on PC
due to the fact that they vary in manufacturers & therefore can have different
protocols.

However please try the following:

- Disconnect any USB devices you don't need in conjuction with your Maschine Mk I
controller,
- go to your device manager under "Sound-, Video & Gamecontrollers" & disable
further devices not needed.
- Connect your Maschine Controller directly to a working port on your computer
using the supplied cable.
- Eventually try further cable & ports.
- Last but not least, please try the controller using a powered USB hub.

just thought it might be of additional help. :)
