I didnt realise how good FL Studio was

Been watching some FL Studio videos so I can do some of the most basic things Im used to doing, but damn. It makes things like sampling so fucking easy, the time stretching is so easy.
I should have started learning it years ago. I still havent made my first beat yet, I know now how to side-chain and now chop samples, think I will do the the sampleflip and practice with that as I learn.

Im going to make a full switch over to FL Studio, but right now I still get stuck trying to do some basic things, so Im going to keep watching tutorials on the basics of the interface, and the names of the plugins and keep practicing and hopefully I will know my way around it before too long

Im using Cubase mostly now, but it keeps running out of memory as its 32bit, so thats why Im making the switch to FL, before Cubase I used just Reason, for ever. Cubase can be a bit long winded sometimes to do basic things, FL Studio seems to make some of those long winded things very straight forward. I was seriously considering getting cubase 10, but now I dont think I need to.

Cubase was always a DAW that was lowkey and I didn't know too many people that used it. Cakewalk too though I guess, but I used it for years lol.
if something does what you want it to do, why not use it?
DAW's are just like music, it can be pretty subjective whether a particular one suits your workflow or not.
Each has its own ups and downs, its just a matter of finding which works best for you.
Acid Pro was anoither pretty obscure one, used that a lot because I could have vocals in that with reason rewired into it

If we go way back, I've made decent stuff with old recording boombox, my drums and an old crappy synth... :)
the first thing I ever made was done on a sampling mixer, that would have one sample, which I would over dub onto a twin cassette deck, Id add a bassline with my zx spectrum which I soldered a phono output onto. The beats sounded like absolute shit, like the snake pit of hell, but my journey into music production had begun

Have you recorded any rappers at that time or later?
Personally Ive only recorded one rapper, Ive recorded reggae artists and singers. Every other rapper ive worked with has always done their own recording. I will mix the vocals to the tracks, but often times the rappers people sort that out themselves.
