Yes! The drums they had were so good. It's incredible how the accomplished all that with the hardware limits they had. If you get a chance to check Hitsville you'll see a bit of it there.

@crosstevsky That's dope. But Motown didn't even have isolation booths (that I know of) so the fact they still pulled it off was amazing.
We have it so easy these days, its good because it allows us to get ideas onto canvas very quickly, and add effects in seconds and even a guy like me in my bedroom can make beats that sound pretty bloody decent.

It's true, I was just thinking that. We're spoiled today compared to then. I know this thread is off topic but still it's nuts what they had to do for basic shit. That's why today people that use Maschine for example, that used to use an SP1200, then go "maaaan, I hated having to wait for the floppy to load...". Okay I get it but still c'mon man. The SP gave you a whole lot in one box.
