hey, you can rate yourself the way you want. Never forget that its impossible that everybody will love your work, without exeption. It always be 50% - 50% ... 50% wont like your stuff and 50% love will love what you do. And with that , you have to pleased the people who like your stuff, and you can take criticisim to evoluate (try to surprise the people who dosent like your stuff)

out of 10, I give myself a 6.5

I can mix a beat good but sometimes it doesn't sound good, like it wouldn't go with lyrics. I think I can be better, I plan on being a 10 in the near future, as for 5 years from now, I plan on having my own label, I'm letting people rent out my home studio now, and pretty soon, I will have enuff dough stacked up to have my own record label.

on a scale of 1 to 10 i would have to say 9.9 cause no ones perfect lol.....nah i would say im an 9 but once i get in the industry and people hear me i will be a 10..........so ima 9 now cause im not recognized or given enough credit for the way i do my music and how i keep everything fresh off the dome and original all my own......when i get famous i will let the people give me a few more points and maybe then i will become a 15 who knows

It's hard to rate myself on a scale of 1-10 because I'm my own worst criticI know I Have some shit and I'm confident about it but no matter what I feel that it can always be better Maybe it's because I don't have my foot in the door yet ..Just don't want to get a big head because I know a few people that have a lot of hot tracks but never made a dime in music

YO I CANT SAY I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT FLUFIN MY OWN FEATHERS, BUT I REALLY DONT THINK I COULD RATE MYSELF........I LOVE MOST OF THE MUSIK I CREATE, BUT..... I CAN NEVER GET PAST HEARING THROUGH A PRODUCERS EAR......
I MEAN I CANT PRETEND LIKE I DIDNT HUNT DOWN ALL MY SAMPLES AND TWEAK THEM TILL THEY WERE PERFECT(BY MY STANDARDS) AND PLAY EACH INDIVIDUAL SEQUENCE OVER AND OVER UNTIL I KNEW EVER MILLASECOND OF MUSIK THAT WENT INTO IT..... I CANT SEPERATE MYSELF FROM THE WHOLE PROCESS OF PRODUCING (BEING A PRODUCER) AND BEING JUST A LISTENER.......ITS LIKE TRYING NOT TO RECOGNIZE YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR.....
CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THAT???????????

"ratin ya self iz 1ne ting n da audience ratin ya is anotha. "

i know what u dudes is saying but i feel in order to progress in a positive fashion and constantly improve u need to be self critical.

My main aim right now is to make music that i like first and foremost after that whatever happens im cool with, ideally id like peeps to feel my music and also to make cash.

However the type of music i make is not hugely popular anyway so making cash aint of primary importance right now

1st priority make shit u feel
2nd get the music to the peeps
3rd get the cash (or maybe this should be second, lol)

I rate myself low to stay a realist, and i rate myself high whenever i got my head bobbin' to some ish i pumped out. I'll feel like im a damn pro when i find myself rewindin' sumthin i made just cause its nice to listen to instead of rewindin' it to tweak it

everyone listen to nas - illmatic

if you can make beats anywhere near that, you're a 9

if you cant

you're below that, straight up

i feel bad when i listen to that album because i listen to beats like 'memory lane' and 'ny state of mind' and wonder how horrible i REALLY am to know i will never make beats as hot as them

I got sooo many styles....dig this shidd I did Yoga music that is selling on Amazon right now...LOL but look the thing is a lot of times the tracks that you produce yourself you might think are the hottest......MC's can come along and listen and they like the stuff you think is wack....no lie so I mean to judge what I think is hot is haaard to say because MC's that I run into got a lil versatility with their flow and they look for beats that are unique or got some crazy changes so they can see how good their lyrical delivery is......so to rate my shidd I oun no what to give it....except a 10 on good days and about a 6 on a bad one...LOL....

It don't matter if I'm ill or not on the beats, as long as I'm the one gettin a check for producing them. My greatest asset is that I know how to market myself very well, when I was "just" an MC, I had a pretty good buzz goin for myself over in Japan and had Def Jam Japan and a few indie labels tryin to sign me, but my focus is to build my own label from the ground up.
Bottom line, the main ingredient to my success is and always will be that I am willing to do something myself instead of paying another man to do it for me, so I'm gonna improve with my beats and my rhymes are already off the chain so its just a matter of time before I get mines.

I feel that way when I'm playing guitar, I think maaaaan, I'm not gonna get as good as Hendrix, but then again, how many people will ever get that close, its the same way, there won't be another Illmatic so relax and create YOUR style-- not Premier's.

I rate myself with a Geiger-Teller. The effect is accounted by victims, the result is merely collateral damage executed by an invidual brain, which mostly consists of just water...

At this point I find it sad that there are ideas flowing through my mind, everytime in line with the passing seconds of each day.
I cant aim for the skies, cause theres no fuel there to jet propel to the stars,
unknown destinations.
at this moment my expectations, are held strong through the beating will of my heart
So I stay courageous, even though my sword too dull, its outrageous
from too many battles and too many ,,,,, tragic scenes.
still I stand, here I am
battered and bruised, still i choose
to walk the rocky roads, barefooted
a long the side of the road, i see many, laughing as they thoughts progress,
they say Krzy why do you what do you,
they say Krzy choose another path where its easy.
still i press on,
to see where this, my love takes me,
whether it'd be teaching sunday school in the church corner
or humming to tune of the ice cream parlor.
music i'll follow, wherever you take me,
wherever you want me.

Just a likkle sommin, sommin, LOL.

But at this point, I cant see myself at the point of excellence, there are too many obstacles that hinder the meesages in mind. I cant afford the equipments I need, at this time. So, sometimes I feel like giving up, cuz what I am using now (Fl Studio) is not enough for a dreamer. It hurts that I cant progress no farther than I am now. Its like I know how to make my self better and better, but keep taking steps back because the resources aren't there. So at this time I think I'd fairly grade myself 6.5\10 because I haven't learned yet to play an instrument nor have I produced an artiste album.
In the future, I dream of many things: I hope to reinvent Dancehall and reinterate the skills of Jamaican producers to the Hip Hop scene. And I hope to establish a way that reggae artiste can get more shine and recognition for the work they do. I also hope to produce a show like Rap City Tha Bassment, featuring the going-ons of the Dancehall scene, the latest dances and songs, and with each episode I hope to teach the world a little bit abot our diverse culture, so that when they listen they can relate. And my biggest project I hope to do, life-sparing: Bob Marley, autobiography to the big screen a movie of his life and his journey to the end. But these are only dreams and wishes.
Krzy K.
