I got this error loading operating system notice on my screen when i turn the computer on..i read about this but it got mad confusing "go to the BIOS settings of your machine and change the translation method used to access the hard drive from the default setting “Auto” to “Large” (not LBA, not CHS!). Reboot and with some luck installation will pick up at the point where it aborted before. If it doesn’t continue with the second part of the installation, you have to start over and do a fresh install. Leave the BIOS setting at “Large” for that task"...what the fuck is all this idk how to change any of these settings i go to my bios but im mad confused...can sumeone please help me wit my problem !!

messing with BIOs can really screw up your hardware. if you've backed up all your stuff, just do a fresh install.

the error report doesnt sound like a real one.i think u got a virus that writes this shit.

do a complete virus scan with your installed antivirus software (i hope u got one) then do a restart if the same prob is there u need to delete your partition where windows is installed.after that install a fresh windows.

first save your important files to a diffrent partition or cd/dvd.

if the error is in the black screen then its not a virus its something else.i thought its insed windows.

ok try this.
check if your harddrive caple is connected right to the mainboard then

do a reboot while this is going on press the DEL button on your keyboard constantly this allows you to join the BIOS menu. check the first or the second option dont remember wich one search where your hardrive is showed and check the settings there and change the AUTO setting into the setting where it shows a name of your hardrive or the "LARGE" setting every bios is diffrent so check what other settings is available besides the auto one.save setting and exit menu.

let me know whats going on after that.

on a sidenote... some older mainboard dont support hardrive that are bigger then 200gb maybe u bought a new hardrive that its too big for your mainboard.

what option can u select where it shows yoru drives? is the hardrive recognized yes or no? it should show the name of the hardrive with numbers and shit sumtinn like

ST13245252 or WD45t234525 some shit like that if its not recognized it could be that the caple is not set right there is a master/slave setting on the hardrive or that your mainboard doesnt support the hardrive cause its too big some older mainboards dont support the new hardrives that are bigger then 200gb u can check it out in the manual of the mainboard how much it supports.

ok the hardrive seem to be ok and configured right cause its recoginsed in the bios system.

what is the size of the hardrive and what is your windows version is it with the service pack included?

the windows xp + service pack2 has build in drivers for SATA HARDRIVES AND SUPPORTS BIGGER DRIVE SIZE u need the fuckin service pack2 or a seperate SATA driver for your fuckin drive. was there a cd or disk with sata drivers for the hardrive?

give me more info about the fuckin hardrive size and windows version.

did u used the drive before or is it a new hardrive?
