Oh, well, you can determine the guidelines, I am just giving general ideas, lol.The thing is, no matter what the theme, it's all in the wording when describing the theme. Because if I say "sample video game music" then I might get asked questions like:
- Do you mean I need to make a beat for a video game?
- Do I have to sample or can I use my own video games?
- Is it only video games? Because I have this sick synth where I can make my own sounds.
- etc...
Yeah that's what I mean though, it has to be specific but if I put "sample video game music" someone could just make something instead so it's not absolute. Unless we do a video game sample flip!Oh, well, you can determine the guidelines, I am just giving general ideas, lol.
My first battle. And I placedI remember when we did the Super Mario theme and by the time it was over, everyone was really annoyed with the Super Mario music.
Maybe a one kit challenge? Loved those on reddit.
really wouldn´t say so. maybe listen to some rounds, interesting what people came up with.Did not the listening get tedious?
I still think it could be interesting. Depending on how varied the outcomes are both musically and sonically.really wouldn´t say so. maybe listen to some rounds, interesting what people came up with.
yep it´s better. can also be really frustrating just using kit samples and not any vsti or your prefered drum kits. might shrink the field of participants.Providing kits is good but I think a sample flip is better since there's so much to sample in a song rather than just one part. That's why that Mario Theme drove everyone insane by the end.
I agree a good sample with plenty to choose from will stop things getting boring I thinkProviding kits is good but I think a sample flip is better since there's so much to sample in a song rather than just one part. That's why that Mario Theme drove everyone insane by the end.
Yeah the battles that really force people out of their comfort zone have fewer entriesyep it´s better. can also be really frustrating just using kit samples and not any vsti or your prefered drum kits. might shrink the field of participants.
Got it.Yeah that's what I mean though, it has to be specific but if I put "sample video game music" someone could just make something instead so it's not absolute. Unless we do a video game sample flip!
