Sticky Beat This! Theme Suggestions

Firstly, i think your idea is great! So don't misconstrue this as me shootingit down.

But i think the only thing to stunt someone's creativity in this scenario is themselves.

The more limited or uncomfortable you may feel, is when you really have to bring your creativity out.

I think people who tackle those scenarios really have the 'creative gene'.

Creativity is often about finding a "solution".

Totally agree with you in that context. The reason i say any film / movie of your choice is that opens up a whole world of possibility. Perhaps we could add a thread like the SAMPLE FLIPPAGE in audio lounge but for movies / films / series etc. Most people have at least a few favourite films and i think the enjoyment of recreating some of our favourite films will be a nice little side project.
Plus i know the talent in here some of the shit would be epic!

I think as a theme itself it'd be fine!

Be good if part of the theme is you have to really convey the film or a part of it. Really capture a moment in beat form. As opposed to merely just sampling or whatever.

Yeah that would be interesting with capturing a moment. Its a tricky one whether to chose a moment or leave it open as some themes are specific other open as in xmas and halloween. Either way its a suggestion for @Fade to ponder. Think it would be great though.

I mean like not Fade picking a moment. But just like, when you hear the beat it has to give you some kind of feeling of that film.

As opposed to just some 5 second dialogue intro in front of a random beat.

Definitely more than just a snippet or intro. Im thinking telling a story of that film with your version of a beat to fit the mood. I'm talking say someone chose classic Rocky, you want to feel you've been in the ring in a battle or someone could go a whole other route and display the 'life ain't all sunshine and rainbows' journey.
We all have film experiences where we are blown away from a certain scene, here we can make it our own by 'sculpting' a beat around that feel and atmosphere.

Yeah man exactly this!!!

We should even use that exact description to calrify the theme!

This is what I wanted when we did the Goodfellas theme but then everyone was arguing about whether it's a gangster beat vs whatever else.

@Fade, I see what you mean, if the theme stated ‘gangster beat with Goodfellas theme’ then yeah, otherwise you can literally make it your own to how it makes you feel personally.
Something like film themes would need to be clarified into either a beat that you could rap on, a beat that pays tribute to the film/movie using quotes or whatever or literally state this is the theme, do what the fuck you all like with it.
But yeah the last thing you need is everyone arguing over it. I just think people would get mad creative with it and interesting what they would come up with.
Kinda like imagine a film and you are trying to express the film like a good trailer would only without the visuals, just sound.

@Fade this may be a surprise coming from me… but I noticed the next Beat This! theme is Trap, sooo… I propose the following Beat This! should be Boombap… The only thing i’d say is no vocals for the trap or boombap theme… just straight up beats! I dont really care one way or the other about vocal snippets, just no full vocal track…

Nice.
I remember after the the 'no BoomBap' I thought there would be 'noTrap' to balance the books.

I agree to chill on the vocaltrack yes after this... I have a dopeee trap beat I recently working on, but I have no Trapapellas - if I can't find one I probably won't enter.

I think vocal theme YES are cool battles, it's just the nightmare of finding acapellas can be brutal. But amazing when you find one.

Yea man, I agree… and it seems like we’ve had full vocals for quite a few battles this year/season already… not to mention a vocal track can mask the repetitiveness of a beat… I just wanna hear the trappers and boombappers bring some fire beats, that arent some 8 bar loop with vocals on top… keep the beat moving and keep the listener interested for 2 min. thats all
