oh man! theres so many good beats!! had to vote for one with the sax and female vocal, shit was a groove. The slower piano melody too was really good, it was hard decision overall.

There were 6 beats that could have easily gotten my vote...crazy way to start a Thursday morning.

When are we all doing the IllMuzik Gang Compilation album? I hear too many hard beats during these battles...

Not only do I make beats others don’t like. I also don’t like the beats others comment on. lol. If the “crazy” beat Armani is taking about is the one I’m thinking, then it was my runner up, the rest of y’all have some very different tastes!!

There was one that had a Kid Koala vibe, that got my vote - dusty and hard-hitting. Imma have to go back and listen again.
Edit - Fuuuuuuuuck, that's some good shit. Whoever made that, I tip my hat to you. Lots of other solid beats this time around, stuff that reminds me of Pete Rock or Dilated Peoples for example, but that one - damn.

There was one I would have really liked but I felt like it was trying too hard to be what it was. Had like load of these elements trying to do a thing. But felt a bit forced and also a bit artificial.

There was a couple interesting unique-ish beats I liked too.

I went with the one I felt just fit together right. It felt congruent with itself.

Also, listening out of phone speakers.

we should prolly come back here at the end and say which ones we were talkin bout. the 2 I mentioned were pretty obvious I think but I'll reveal it at the end anyway.

Congrats @Delta_Nine . Had yours 4 or 5.

@Ys Man you got my vote. Wasn’t my favorite. But overall it was the best imo.

@TWU that was my favorite beat. Very sick. Just had some small issues with the drums and mixing for me. I try to be unbiased and not vote based on style I prefer etc…. Otherwise yours would have been my hands down fave.

Otherwise, I’ll take a runner up I guess. At least one person liked it and that’s really all that matters!!

@Delta_Nine congrats on that shit, pretty neat. garden of peace right?

esp grats to @StoneLockProd

also @TWU got my vote. delivered as per fucking usual. that shit was real hard, loved the groove, the vibe, errything. absolutely diabolical.

@Primz was tight too but maybe a tiny bit more minimalism & sounding more focused could've made it sound chiller, cooler, yk? the vibe is lit af but the whole production is a bit too all over the place, every element is screaming it's own points and no one's listening to anyone. you basically created the UK parliament.

I thought @Ys Man was boutta win this one cuz his beat is pretty ill-sounding if that makes any sense. it's got that placer vibe.

also personally, my own beat was frankly uninspired & shitty cuz the first time I ever experimented with that mpc thingy. it's not REAL mpc but I chopped the sample and assigned it to diff keys and... basically tried a version of the classic way of sampling for the first time. it's pretty fun! I still like my old daw-playlist method of sampling more, it's way more controlled, but this method is pretty fun and gives a completely diff perspective. will defo try it later too.
