ok should i get the mpc 1000 or the Korg Triton LE 61. i do a lot of sampling but keys would definitely be a good addition. they're both at the same price but what y'all think?? lemme know. i can get it tomorrow.

mpc 1000 and a midi controller.....thats ur best bet and will offer the most flexabilitity, u can add sound modules later.

class....

how does that give me the flexibility? plus, the mpc 1000 + midi controller + sound modules...i dont think it adds up to $1000. damn sound modules cost a lot of money too.

it gives u flexablitity casue u can add/subtract soundmoules to your set up as u choose, basically it allows alot of flexabity. Soundmodules tend to be stronger then their workstation counter parts, and there size/flexabilitiy makes them ideal for a flexiblae set up,

I started with the motif rack and i recently added a fantom rack, it was just a matter of plugging in another midi cable....

Also ur using each piece of gear too its strenght, the MPC is known for its sequncer thats why most people cop it, motif is known for its sounds, thats why people use it etc...

So with that set up you use each peice of gear to its strength thats why u see alot of people with modular set ups like that.

U dont need to start off with a hardware soundmodule, u can cop a mpc 1000 a cheap MIDI controller and use reason as a soundmodule, reason has dope sounds

Or i could just use cubase to sequence and get a midi controller and a sound module yeah? i see what you mean class but... if i go that way i KNOW i will never get a hardware sound module for a LOOOOOOONNNGGGG time coz im broke like that. yes my man, i am so broke i make the bums in my hood look like ballers. haha

Oh and cant you hook up a sound module to the triton through midi and control the sounds off of it with the keys on the triton?

cubase is cool but from the impression u left eariler, i thought u were trying to choose between and MPC and a korg, u can do the modular set up option with pretty much any sequncer, but i do know that the mpc, MIDI controller, rack set up is VERY powerful.

Basically the only thing u would have to cop is the MPC 1000, im sure u can get reason on the low some where and a cheap midi controller, I dont think u realise Thats a VERY powerful setup fpr the price, u can fuck with any pro with that setup. and u can always add more racks(software or hardware) later on

U can do the exact same thing with cubase or FL replacing the mpc 1000

My 2 cents

yea but u ddo u hear people raving about a trition sequncer?? I sure dont, u will be stuck wit that for ur samples and ur compostiton. A sequncer is the most important aspect or your setup, dont matter what other gear u got if u cant fuck with your sequncer, ur fucked........

either way you'll be cool

there really isn't a "best" option. u could go with the Triton and make dope ish or go with the MPC and make dope ish.

i like to learn one piece of hardware or software at a time so i think teh Triton with Sampling option would be good for you but the MPC with MIDI keyboard and sound module is cool too.

ok ok its personal prefference, but...

avoid that triton le like its the plague.

its "ok" but there are many far better options out there.... and the sequencer is ASS. its so far from user friendly its rediculous.... i dont get the hype on it. i've used the mpc, triton le and cubase sequencers.... as well as the dr 202's sequencer... but for real.... that le sequencer is ass. straight up. the mpc and cubase are both much more user friendly and all...

soundwise.... well personally i HATE the triton..... cant stand the soundset... its garbage... its VERY dated as well.... you may as well cop some of the sonic synth refills for reason if you already have it.... cause those are better then the tritons.... plus the le has one insert effect... try using tha tin sequencer mode, when all the sounds are stripped bare and you have one crappy effect to use one one sound, or you can apply it globally... one plus is the master eq and effect is solid.... dont know how that worked...but the sounds are very dated and far better ones are easily obtainable through reason/vst for a fraction of the cost....

if you are after the hardware sequencer, go with the mpc... but if you are using cubase then i say do yourself a favor and cop the motif es rack, or even step up a few notches to the fantom xr.

friends dont let friends buy tritons.

if you already have cubase, i say stick with that and cop a sound module.

stick with the mpc, if it were the triton extreme id probably say different. the LE is pretty weak, what u can do is get the mpc 1000 and the korg TR-rack which is basically the predecesser to the triton and can be found for like $300 on ebay. the mpc is very handy and you can easily take it with you. like classic mentioned earlier Reason is a great piece to use with it, if not that then get Sonik synth 2, tons of sounds and 5 effects per instrument compared to 1 effect for the triton le for only 300 bones, i dont think u can beat that chief.

i would get a sp-404 when they come out as well as a controller keyboard and a 70s analog synth (korg delta or the like can be had for about $100 us) for making your own bass / keyboard sounds to sample and then play in on it.

first off, you havent even told us what you are looking for:

what are you looking for, sound wise? how much of the keys will be featured?

Sound wise, im just looking for some good strings and maybe some warm synth sounds. if i get that triton, wont i be able to freak the sounds on my computer then transfer them back into the triton? or maybe you got a better suggestion? here's what im coppin' in the next week.

emu audio dock M
Rode NT 1A
Either MPC 1000 / Triton Le
Midi Controller if i went the MPC route.

but from reading all the replies i think im leaning towards the mpc. but maybe something will change my mind...
