recording instruments with crappy mic
have u tried a noise cancelling plug in? .. i use them on vynil all the time to get rid of the static and crackle. .. waves xnoise works great but its pretty expensive. although im not usre u can use plugins withim magic music maker -

what equipment are u currently using? .. what interface? .. and what type of mic? .. even with a modest setup u can get some usuable results if u work it right.. let us know what u are using and we can help. -

Which Mic?
the sm7 in my experience is a hit or miss mic .. its not something that i would get if i only had one mic... it can sound really boxy and dull... espcially when ur recording someone with a deep voice... it sounds great on some voices, crappy on others .. i think its a great mic, but a llittle... -

u wont need more than one mic if ur only recording a few voices imo... maybe for other genres but not hip hop. if u run a studio obviously u need more choices but we recorded our whole album with an at4047 through a safesound p1... and it sounds great (at least to my ears.. u guys be the judge... -

sounds like a good idea... ur biggest problem would be setting an optimal price and ensuring that there were truly rare samples on there. Nobody would want to buy no marvin gaye or nothing they could find on ******** or sample blogs. I pay a monthly fee for a sample resource (that I wont name)...- Ash Holmz
