    Waves Diamond Bundle...nahh.

I guess what I'm getting at is that it needs to leave the crib sounding as good as possible. Done properly, there's very little an engineer has to do with it except tweak a knob here or there.

    swing+drums

I started applying that way of thought from the way I make my dance compositions in FL Studio. That's how I assemble techno and electro tracks, but never did hip hop like that even though I used to do something similar with hip hop waaaaay back inna day.

    Best Laptop To Produce

I'm running FL Studio 6 on my Dell 630m (2GHz Pentium M/1GB RAM/60GB drive/XP SP2) and FL Studio 5 on my Dell Latitude CP (Pentium 233MMX/128MB RAM/60GB drive/Windows ME). I could run FL 6 on the CP, but I'd lose a few sample players to the extra overhead. ... and, yes, I make music on...

    swing+drums

It's possible to create patterns with a single instrument in it, each with it's own degree of swing to it. You would then assemble these individual patterns into your tracks.

NEW SHIT! m-audio pro tools compatible fire wire mixers.

I fuckin hate M-Audio... Where was shit like this when I had an all hardware studio? All there was back then was the Pro Mix01 or 02R and even then you still had to have an interface.

    Sampling Q.

I've sampled some of everything from old 2600 games to classical music, movie scores to obscure minimalist compositions. You can sample anything and make it sound good if you know what you're doing. One of my last beats involved sampling an older PSX RPG and looping the music over some Sade...

    808 Drum Samples.

I do. The 909 kick makes it's way into a lot of my beats. Filter it and it's ready to go. I also use it for Ghettotech and Electro production.

    Why no Apple Logic catagory

That may be true, but Emagic lost me when they (as in Apple) killed PC support. Had they continued PC support (a blatantly obvious revenue stream for Apple/Emagic), I might have invested in it one more time and may have been pleased with the results. They didn't, so I'll never know. I've...

    Why no Apple Logic catagory

I tried running Logic from 4.0 to 5.5 and, although I love the synths, I can't see myself using it ever. There's no "logical" reason that the sequencer has to be so damned hard to use. There's no reason why the app itself has to be so hard to do anything on it. I took time to learn it a bit by...

    Laptop to Car Audio system

I do shit like this nearly everyday to and from work in Big White (my Lumina). I have my laptop hooked up through a casette adapter coming off of my M-Audio Fast Track USB. I use it to listen to music, but usually end up pulling over in a 7-11 or Circle K after I hear a sample I wanna fuck with...

Apples, And oranges.. But why Reason over FL?

They're different. Soooooo different it's not even funny. Get deep into sequencing, hardcore sequencing like I had to do before software synths, and you'll see that there's a huge difference between sequencing with Reason and Cubase/Sonar/Logic/etc.

Apples, And oranges.. But why Reason over FL?

FL Studio is only missing linear sequencing tracks, that's it. The sequencer in both Reason and FL Studio is mickey-mouse compared to Cubase, Sonar, or even the one in Power Tracks Pro. I really don't see a point in saying that "Sequencing in FL Studio is for little kids " when, to a seasoned...

Apples, And oranges.. But why Reason over FL?

I like 'em both, but there's always stuff I wish was different. FL Studio - needs linear sequencer tracks and better control over note length in piano roll Reason - Needs VST support. Reason, by itself, is pretty powerful. The synths are nice, fx sounds good, and the samplers are...

How long have yall been producing ?

15 years, with sporadic breaks from hip hop. Last break was 4 years long during which I concentrated more on Detroit Techno and Ghettotech. I just got back into it earlier this year.

    What is the best Drummachine?

First: CPU power has nothing to do with RAM. Upgrading the amount of memory you have will do ZERO for your CPU power. If you're at 25% usage with Reason open, the only way to make that any lower would be to get a faster processor. Second - Use Battery/Battery2, and if you like analog drums...
