I started applying that way of thought from the way I make my dance compositions in FL Studio. That's how I assemble techno and electro tracks, but never did hip hop like that even though I used to do something similar with hip hop waaaaay back inna day. -
Best Laptop To Produce
I'm running FL Studio 6 on my Dell 630m (2GHz Pentium M/1GB RAM/60GB drive/XP SP2) and FL Studio 5 on my Dell Latitude CP (Pentium 233MMX/128MB RAM/60GB drive/Windows ME). I could run FL 6 on the CP, but I'd lose a few sample players to the extra overhead. ... and, yes, I make music on... -

It's possible to create patterns with a single instrument in it, each with it's own degree of swing to it. You would then assemble these individual patterns into your tracks. -

NEW SHIT! m-audio pro tools compatible fire wire mixers.
I fuckin hate M-Audio... Where was shit like this when I had an all hardware studio? All there was back then was the Pro Mix01 or 02R and even then you still had to have an interface. -

I've sampled some of everything from old 2600 games to classical music, movie scores to obscure minimalist compositions. You can sample anything and make it sound good if you know what you're doing. One of my last beats involved sampling an older PSX RPG and looping the music over some Sade... -

I do. The 909 kick makes it's way into a lot of my beats. Filter it and it's ready to go. I also use it for Ghettotech and Electro production. -

They're different. Soooooo different it's not even funny. Get deep into sequencing, hardcore sequencing like I had to do before software synths, and you'll see that there's a huge difference between sequencing with Reason and Cubase/Sonar/Logic/etc. -

First: CPU power has nothing to do with RAM. Upgrading the amount of memory you have will do ZERO for your CPU power. If you're at 25% usage with Reason open, the only way to make that any lower would be to get a faster processor. Second - Use Battery/Battery2, and if you like analog drums...
