I played around with fxpansions guru last weekend, and it really is a fine beat sequencer. now i heard about geist being guru's successor and that it's even better. anyone using that for drum loops? how well does it integrate in a host? synching troubles? arranging?

So I got myself a Macbook after 15 years of being a windows user. now I need some VST plug-ins, cause I need to use them in both Maschine and in Cubase. Something comparable to PSP vintage warmer would be nice. a nice eq and a good compressor would be good too. oh and almost forgot: i'm cheap...
copped the promise lp by sade yesterday, amongst some other records. wow, 1985, this is now officially an oldy, but man is it sweet. the further away we pull from the 80s, the more i appreciate the music of that decade.

I need a mixer/controller combo that lets me control cubase but also offers analog mixing, so i can send groups through it in a final mixing stage. a preamp would be nice too. I'm not sure whether it should be an all-in-one device or seperate gear for every task. any suggestions ?
