the emu mo phat and planet phat sf2 kits have some decent sounds. but i agree, they sound a bit thin so i use them for inspiration mainly -

You think you can program drums?
its not that hard. a little talent, some basic knowledge about rhythm and an hour practice with the samples and any of you guys could do this. if you can play a bar of straight eights of hihats with one hand and occasional 16s with the other, you can do it. -

i think ive got it. just right click on a control in battery, the automation window opens. check the "midi learn" option. led starts blinking, turn the desired knob. -
