If you're a total Newb, Fruity Loops is the way to go. Its way easier to learn imo. But again, the thing is, Reason gives more sounds to begin with and it reproduces what hardware beatmakers work with... It's all up to you, really. On the other hand, if you want sounds, there is a thread... -

quantizing question?
the quantizing function is on the menu in the pianoroll... Right-click the little piano (#1 on the pic) Tools/Quick Quantize or Tools/Quantize what you do with it is up to you... Sometimes, you need quantize... sometimes, it fu*ks the groove you wanted to give in the 1st place... -
