Its all about the beats per minute (BPM)(Tempo) there is no time or formula for it. Depending on how you record ... you should always tempo map everything that way if you want to fly in hooks or verses you just align it up with the tempo map.- MadScientist

The only type of skit I would enjoy is not even a skit. It would be something like what DJ Quik does on all his albums....Quik's Groove...Instumental showing off your skills as a producer...just a nice beat to listen to...no vocals.....Keep it short thought don't give them too much...you want...- MadScientist

Skits suck! There a waste of space on a CD... If your going to put time into a skit, put it into a song... The only way I see a need for a skit, is if it leads into a song and its like a intro...but if its there just to take up space...don't do it.- MadScientist

This is a matter of opinion but...
The beat is complete once the vocals are laid over the track. After that, the song is arranged and you add the finishing touches. But all these beats that have been posted on here aren't even close to being done in my opinion. Just becuase you have it broke down into 16 bar format with a 8 bar...- MadScientist

If you have a MPC 3000 just use the Tap Tempo button with the acapella.... every song has tempo. I play drums so it might be easier for me, but that how I do it.- MadScientist
