Long story short if its creative and has a nice flow and vibe, its hip hop. You can sample and have a hot track, you can sample and still sound boring and unorignal, the same goes for composing. Normally when I do a remix I try to do the complere opposite of the origianal track. If the origianl was sampled, I try to create a composed track and vice versa, if composed I make a sampled version. -

The thing about Jay is that he sounds good over any style of beat, 100% composed or sampled. As long as its a hot track Jay will do his best to rip it. Snoop is the same way in my opinion. Not all rappers can do that. -

The funny thing is that NaS does have good idea's. "Hip Hop is Dead" was a good idea/concept he just didnt put enough thought into it. He had the vision but no gameplan. -

Get "Tiger Woods 08" cant go wrong with a golf game. Played it at a friends house, and the shit was fun. Somthing you can do with your crew, with everyone playing instead of two at at time. But we're addicted to golf just waiting for spring to hit.- Ozmosis

Benefits of being in a crew?
Sometimes being in a group especially if an emcee is involved helps you get your music out if your not already selling beats on your own. For example RZA an 9th wonder, do the beats for your crew and your all helping each other.- Ozmosis

Go with the 1000 or 2500(if you can put out that much loot). Either one I dont think you will be disappointed. 2000xl is still a good machine, but me personally I would go with either of the two latest versions of the mpc's -

Ol' school 60's motown, my pops used to get drunk in the basement listening to his old records every friday night. I learned to appriciate that music, when you really had to know how to sing to get a record deal.- Ozmosis
