    Ok! i tried to change the recording settings but i cant seem to find it. everytime i right click on the channel i want to record in it always says stereo. the other two options are "left only" and "right only". where can i change it to just mono??     ok i just got my Tascam US 122 and a condenser mic. i installed the drivers and all and now im trying to make it work with cool edit. but everytime i try to record something through the mic, cool edit doesnt pick up the sound. help me out here! is there something i should change in the settings??

    Going Mixerless!

    i dont think you need a mixer. thats what im planning to do with my setup. only, i do all my beats on my laptop. im gonna run my mic through a tascam us 122 via USB and record my vocals on Cool Edit pro 2.0 (for now). i dont see why i would need a mixer. anyone else??

    My question would be...how do you plug in a decent mic to your PC's soundcard? would you have to purchase like an adapter for this? and what software would be good for recording, mixing, and mastering? cheap or expensive. also what would be a good mic under $200? thanks for all the help...
