    I already have a asio driver installed. My mic doesn't have a xlr plug on it. I has 1/4 plug on it.I don't think it needs a mic amp to work it works great when I plug it directly into the mic input on my roland Ma-8 speakers.

    I've done everything you guys are talking about. Maybe my sound card is messed up. I have the mic hooked up to a 1/8 inch adapter which goes in the mic input on the soundcard. I have a dynamic mic is that okay. should microphone be only thing checked on the volume control?

    If you get the fantomXR with expansion cards there would be no point in getting the motif es rack. The so-called great acoustics in the motif es rack can be found on the roland expansion cards. Just check em out on the roland website.
