I already have a asio driver installed. My mic doesn't have a xlr plug on it. I has 1/4 plug on it.I don't think it needs a mic amp to work it works great when I plug it directly into the mic input on my roland Ma-8 speakers.
I had that mic years ago when i first started rappin. honestly it's garbage there might be a short in the cable which is causing the no sound, like you know when you use some old ass headphones and you can only hear out of 1 side unless you fiddle with the cable for a while, i would get a new mic, like this http://www.zzounds.com/item--MSEV57M or http://www.zzounds.com/item--MSEDRK
i hear that it;s good to record the same lyrics and beat in different rooms [closets, bathrooms] and then review them to have options for different moods of the lyrics. i'm told mic'ed the amp or speaker is also an option for vocals but i doubt it for my hiphop
