    look into the older roland VS 1880, 1680 models. They give a much better recording than that boss machine you have even though they are basiclly the same company. You will have to buy a CD burner for them, but they are worth it. Or look into a AW16G(what I have) 20gig hardrive and cdburner...

    ok what are you full trying to do. Do you want to chop a loop so that you can strech it out or are you just trying to chop into diffrent hits that you can hit whenever you want. Becaus your problem that you are desribing is a lack of knowlodge of the program.

    I only use the ASR when I'm trying to get grimy with it or I want to use the effects. I make 90 perecent with just the MPC. The 1k can be used as a stand alone machine. I just wish peopel would stop saying otherwise.

    Fantom Xr Vs. Motif Es Rack Vs. Triton Rack

    I agree with class on its all about preferences. I really like the effects and what you can do to samples on the fantom. and I like that it has a good blend of FX and with the expansisons you can bring it close to the motif, but somebody who knows what they want can make heat with anything.
