    Don't always stick with the same set up... change it up depending on the song... but you could even do 2 four bar beats and make them similar but just change stuff up... Timbaland style it if ya have to...

    I have to agree with Cold Truth... Mixing and Mastering is a hidden art... you don't hear about most of these guys but their the one responsible for what you hear and how loud or soft it is... they put on the finishing touch

    You can prevent clipping by turning the volume down on the sound source (whether the program itself or using you mixer...if you have one) But you sound like you need some help overall so here's my advice (not just for newbies but for anyone into production).. the best book you could get right...

    I know not many people like Game, I don't all that much but there are some sweet songs on this album... I love what he did with the chorus of the song "documentary", pretty tight idea of using classic hip hop albums in a flow on the chorus, and then putting his album name at the end of it

    If your looking at getting the triton because of the sounds...don't everyone has a triton and the sounds have all been used... I got my motif when they first came out and no one in the industry was using them... and I was so happy to have sounds that weren't all over the radio...

    My MPC came with hardly anything useable... I wiped it out and started cataloging my own sounds into it... Its a great beat macine and sampler but its not like my motif that comes with preprogramed sounds...

    Don't limit yourself to looking for bars of loops... you'll miss out on a lot of good instr.'s, beats, and sounds...
