To be honest with you it doesn't matter. when someone says a note is out of key it means out of tune with the rest of the track. I don't know music theory, I've gotten by with Chord books/Fake books. Software.... just how fast it was to create tracks compared to using an akai Mpc ...Robbing others swing from audio files how many producers shared tracks with other producers the # of producers who work from presets (not stock) but their own- Greg Savage

How Does The Mixing Process Effect The Outcome Of A Beat?
A mix will make or break a beat... You can have the most simplistic beat and it will sound like gold if you have a good mix.. Take a beat you've mixed or had mixed turn off the all the tweaks and settings you've done... notice a difference?- Greg Savage

Maschine vs MPC2000xl
Good stuff truth is hard to tell it all depends on the user... if someone used the mpc 3000 and made a really cheesy sounding track with it where the chops were near perfect then made something a lil more sloop sounding in an app and asked people would deem the sloopy sounding track being made...- Greg Savage
