thanks fade, but i read that too. they say midi interface, which actually is an in and an out-port. i mean the sound module hast to respond to certain events and without a midi in that´s gonna be hard. -

they are worth their money! i have one for strings and it is so nice that i want to use it in almost every track ;-) if you know what you want you can get them quite cheap on ebay. BUt make sure you heard them before buying them. there´lots of crap out there too -

why do people talk bad about fruityloops, because it has cheesy sounds? fruityloops was originally designed to be a midi sequencer. the sounds they provide with it are just to get you started. Even if they were any good I would not want to use them. It´s like using synthesizer presets over and... -
how come my fruity loops doesnt have a Wave editors
it´s not really that good. i don´t use it at all. you can link any editor via the tools box. works pretty good for me. -

There are several sequencers out there with different capabilites and details. it´s depends on what you want to accomplish. Oh and midi ain´t that complicated, so if you have any questions get at me. -

Akai MPD16 alternative
Just found out about this little baby made by emu. it has velocity drum pads and other nice midi options and was designed to go with rack samplers. Anybody heard of this one? Is it any good? -

interesting topic. from what i have heard smoke causes damage with all kinds of contacts. at least that´s what I was told. Appart from that being a non smoker and buying used gear that smeels like an ashtray can suck big time ;-)
