Looking For An External Soundcard
My girl is gonna help me out and get me one for my birthday.. the budget is standing at around $300. Just wondering what recommendations you guys would have? Edit - Basically all i'm going to be using it for at the moment is to record from my turntable/mixer and to get a better sound quality... -

This guy definitely knows he has something, with or without you, or the next guy. He'd definitely be leveraging you against the next man and vice versa, so he can get the best deal possible for himself. He might only need your money, but, using your advice, wouldn't you be able to get him... -
sampling rock tracks
Over the last year or 2, most of what i've sampled has been rock. It's actually my preferred genre to sample, especially indie rock/experimental rock. But again, as was stated before, certain producers have a knack for sampling certain genres, some don't. It's all practice. -

what bpm's do you use? popular songs bpms?
i've gone from 80-110. i think it all depends on the sample i'm using, but 90% of the time, it'll be between 88 and 96 BPM for me -

I'd hate to be in that position. I can't stand giving my beats to anyone else but people i truly, honestly want to work with. I've passed up selling beats MANY times because i didnt want to give them to a dude i wasn't super keen about. I'd rather give them away for free to guys i respect... -

Try to save on ReCycle
i dont use my samples as loops, so it doesnt matter to me really. if i need to find the tempo of my sample, i just speed bpm up and down in reason until the sample fits and make my adjustments from there -

there's a slider on the bottom left corner to zoom in. as for the amount of bars... eh, i dont really find that it matters. you can put in 999 or 1 and it wont make a difference to the chops -
