how can you blame someone for wanting to make living at doing what they love most which is making music
most indie artists have to take on jobs because they can't make a living selling their music
None Shall pass is a very strong album from start to finish
i won't hesitate to buy a...
it lacks ghostface. that is the only negative i'm aware of.
its not for people caught up in what hip hop is supposed to be...or people still hoping for another 36 chambers
rza, meth, & u-god stepped up to the plate big time
ghostface is out of is fucking mind
ghostface wanted kanye and pharrell on the new album? lol ...rza isn't going to go mainstream with his shit
the new album is dark and psychedelic...so what if there are guitars on it?
i like the album on first listen...but it took me about 10 more...
when i created the beat i thought i was the first to do it.
my beat is 100% me
i had no idea puff daddy did it because i do everything i can to stay away from listening to music like that.
i'd never heard that song. i knew the sample was so cool that it must have been used so i did a google search using the keywords 'rocky','sample', and 'hip hop'...thats when i found out
i haven't been into hip hop for very long. a couple years ago i used to live into a guy that got me into...
i'm smack dab in the middle. i live in a hick town where there is no music scene. no emcees to work with.
as far as the sample...i sampled a song from the rocky soundtrack
check them both out...i do happen to think the bass drum sounds better in his version...other than that its pretty...
a producer i can't stand. i listened to the song on youtube and i realize the sound quality isn't great there but i could tell the beat isn't nearly as creative or energetic as mine. i didn't just put a beat on a sample. i layered mine and chopped it up and rearranged it. i made it into...
i can't believe i had no idea what quantize meant. i think i've tried to do that on my own. i'll have to mess around with that cuz it sounds very useful. i belive my magix music maker has that feature.
i don't always do it but i like dropping the hi hats during the chorus sometimes. its like it allows people to get a different perspective on those same sounds that were in the verse. it makes a bigger difference than you'd think.
what producers out there are doing this and are they in higher demand? is it safe to say that you should be able to sell a beat for more if you provide a hook. of course it would be a bit harder to find a buyer since particular subject matter could weed out certain artists. it probably is a lot...
once i finish my beat i convert it to one wav file. i then take the wav file which is the vocal track. so i am working with 2 tracks. i just experiment by shift each track forward or back..i also change the bpms on each track but not always at the same time and just continue shifting each...
i love it to death. once i get some good software and a trumpet i'm going to be totally obsessed.
and if i ever make a dollar bill doing this i'll never stop lol
not to compare myself to dre but i do the same thing..lol
i constantly use the kick and snare drums...about 8 of each i think
its fun to mess around with them and try to get different sounds
