    Mpc2000xl with internal zip, external zip, external memory card reader, zips with drums, and manual, $380usd. Worth it? i have a 1000 already but really want more of a studio workhorse, and am looking to further my 90's boom-bap vibe/sound. Advice would be much appreciated.

    thats a good one 2good, i usually try to keep everything at least at -5db for headroom, this really helps in the mastering process as well.

    EQ is the most useful, powerful tool you can use. Learn to use it well, and learn to use a spectrum analyzer. Voxeno Span is an excellent one and its free.

    Close Encounters of the Third Kind today @ the local shop $5usd. Pretty cheap considering how over-priced that place is... anyways some great Moog sounds & the vinyl is in mint so I'm pleased.
